Pay Range: $23 - $37 Hourly - Based on experience; 2nd shift also includes a shift premium

4 Day Work Week | Monday - Thursday | 2 PM - 12:30 AM - 2nd Shift (Training on 1st Shift)

Job Overview: A Robotic Welder is a skilled professional responsible for programming, operating, and maintaining robotic welding systems to join and fabricate metal components. The ideal candidate possesses expertise in interpreting blueprints, programming or editing robotic weld paths, and monitoring automated welding cells to produce high-quality, consistent welds. Attention to detail, precision, and a commitment to safety are crucial traits for success in this role. The Robotic Welder must be proficient in ensuring the structural integrity of welded components while adhering to industry standards and project specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up, program, and operate robotic welding cells and associated fixtures, including teaching or editing weld paths and parameters
  • Select and install proper welding consumables (wire, gas, contact tips) according to weld program specifications and material types/thicknesses
  • Determine required equipment and welding parameters, applying knowledge of metallurgy, geometry, and robotic welding techniques
  • Prepare all material surfaces to be welded, ensuring that there is no loose or thick scale, slag, rust, moisture, grease, or other foreign matter
  • Position and secure workpieces in fixtures, using hoists, cranes, wire, and banding machines or hand tools as needed
  • Monitor robotic weld cycles for quality, troubleshoot programming or equipment faults, and make minor program adjustments to maintain weld quality
  • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of robotic welding equipment, torches, and fixtures
  • Perform other tasks as assigned and required

Qualifications:

  • Safely operate robotic welding equipment and use safe work habits
  • Ability to program, edit, and troubleshoot robotic weld paths and parameters
  • Working knowledge of MIG welding principles as applied through robotic systems
  • Have good math ability and problem-solving skills
  • Read and interpret blueprints efficiently
  • Have at least 1-2 years' experience with robotic or automated welding (manual welding experience with robotic exposure also considered)
