Job description

About Analog Devices

Analog Devices, Inc. (NASDAQ: ADI) is a global semiconductor leader that bridges the physical and digital worlds to enable breakthroughs at the Intelligent Edge. ADI combines analog, digital, AI, and software technologies into solutions that combat climate change, reliably connect humans and the world, and help drive advancements in automation and robotics, mobility, healthcare, energy and data centers. With revenue of more than $11 billion in FY25, ADI ensures today's innovators stay Ahead of What's Possible. Learn more at www.analog.comand on LinkedIn and X.

Analog Devices is seeking a Principal Field Robotics System Engineer to operate at the intersection of hands-on robotic system expertise, customer engagement, and platform enablement.

You will act as a system-level domain expert in the field, supporting customers from early architecture discussions through proof-of-concept (PoC), evaluation, and system support and integration, accelerating adoption of ADI technologies in real-world robotic systems.

This is a high-impact, customer-facing role focused on:

  • Scaling platform and solution engagements across robotics ecosystems (OEMs, disruptors, and partners), in collaboration with ADI BUs, Sales, Software, ADI Garage, Innovation Hubs, and AI teams.
  • Co-creating with customers and demonstrating value proposition
  • Providing domain expertise across robotic subsystems and platforms (motion, sensing, perception, control, power)
  • Accelerating customer decision cycles and drive design wins

This role supports priority segments including industrial robotics, humanoids, mobile robots, and service robotics, and is central to ADI's strategy to move up the value stack-from components to subsystems and platforms.

Success in this role requires the ability to operate across complex ecosystems, influence technical and business stakeholders, and translate platform capabilities into working PoCs that accelerate customer adoption. At its core, this role executes ADI's platforms & solutions strategy in the field-driving near-term business impact while scaling repeatable system solutions and strengthening ADI position within key robotics ecosystems.

Responsibilities
  • Build and integrate proof-of-concepts, demos, and reference systems that translate ADI platform capabilities into compelling system-level demonstrations, clearly showcasing performance, scalability, and customer value
  • Work hands-on with robotic subsystems and platforms (motion, sensing, perception, control) aligned to real-world customer use cases
  • Support system bring-up, integration, and debugging across hardware, software, and control layers
  • Lead ADI Catalyst (collaboration hubs) engagements and customer co-creation activities; including workshops and boot camps
  • Lead strategic platform engagements with robotics companies, disruptors, and ecosystem partners - from early concept through deployment
  • Develop and apply deep expertise across key areas of technology including motion & actuation, multimodal sensing, real-time control, embedded compute / edge AI, and power systems, with considerations for functional safety
  • Act as the technical bridge between customers, Sales, FAEs, and Business Units
  • Provide guidance on system architecture trade-offs (system partition, performance, cost, power, scalability)
  • Convert engagements into design wins and scalable opportunities across accounts
  • Represent ADI through customer engagements, technical forums, and industry events
  • Contribute to enablement and mentorship of FAEs and sales teams in system-level engagements
Skills & Experience

Required (Core Qualifications)

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in robotics system, subsystem, or technology design across industry and/or academia
  • Proven hands-on experience integrating robotic systems (prototype or deployed) or experience with advanced robotics (manipulation and humanoids preferred)
  • Strong understanding of key robotic technologies, including motion control and actuation, multimodal sensing (IMU, force/torque, tactile, magnetic, vision, depth, audio), or real-time / embedded systems
  • Experience working at the hardware-software boundary (system integration, bring-up, debugging)
  • Familiarity with:
    • C/C++ and/or Python
    • Robotics frameworks (e.g., ROS / ROS2)
    • Simulation and virtual commissioning tools (e.g., Isaac Sim/Omniverse, Gazebo, RoboDK, MATLAB)
