Job description

Department Overview

The Department of Urology at Oregon Health & Science University and Doernbecher Children's Hospital/Randall Children's Hospital are hiring a full-time pediatric urologist.

The appointee shall provide services at the Pediatric Urology practice at Randall Children's Hospital and Doernbecher Children's Hospital as assigned by the supervisor in furtherance of the university's missions and goals of teaching, research, patient care, outreach and public service.

The Pediatric Urology practices will provide comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis, treatment and follow-up care to infants, children, and adolescents with all pediatric urologic disorders. Faculty will be expected to further the mission of patient care, teaching, and research. Faculty will be supported and partner with the existing providers at Doernbecher Children's Hospital and Oregon Health and Sciences University to provide safe, high-quality, and comprehensive care for the children of Oregon and SW Washington.

Function/Duties of Position

Provides an outstanding level of professional performance in quality of clinical care. Professional performance is delivered in a manner that is compliant with the regulation and guidelines of all relevant regulating bodies (i.e. The Joint Commission[CD1.1], Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, OHSU IRB, NIH and all other state, federal, and institutional regulatory guidelines.) Treats all patients, research subjects, trainees and co-workers with dignity and respect.

May maintain a program of scholarly research activity directed toward improved understanding for the causes, detection, and treatment of diseases. May engage in public service through consultative activities with OHSU and non-University groups as approved by the Division Chief and Department Chair. Must have satisfactory record of accomplishments in service.

Required Qualifications
  • Doctorate in medicine, and postdoctoral training; Satisfactory record of accomplishment in ALL of the following categories: teaching, scholarship and service.
  • Current license and certification with the Oregon Board of Medical Examiners
  • Board Eligible/Board Certified by the American Board of Urology,
  • Completion of fellowship in an accredited pediatric urology program with training in laparoscopy and robot assisted laparoscopic surgery.
  • Drug Enforcement Association certification
  • CPR/PALS certification required.
  • All candidates must be eligible for and able to maintain an Oregon and Washington State medical licenses.
