Job description

Title - Automation Framework Engineer - Python & Pytest & Robot Framework
Location - Hillsboro, Oregon (onsite only)
Years - 7 to 10 relevant years
Required Skills & Experience:
โ€ข Strong Python programming skills with experience in test automation and framework development.
โ€ข Hands-on experience with Robot Framework and PyTest, including keyword and tagging-based test design.
โ€ข Experience with QNX OS, Linux, and Android-based embedded systems.
โ€ข Hardware interfacing experience including USB, serial, Ethernet, audio, and display interfaces.
โ€ข Integration experience with CI/CD tools (preferably GitLab runners) and test orchestration systems.
โ€ข Familiarity with virtualization technologies and cloud-based test environments (e.g., AWS).
โ€ข Exposure to in-flight entertainment systems or similar embedded platforms is highly preferred.
โ€ข Experience with Jenkins, Git, Gerrit, and Docker containers is a plus.
Key Responsibilities:
โ€ข Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate Robot Framework libraries and keyword-based tests into an existing PyTest-based automation framework.
โ€ข Develop and maintain Python-based test scripts and automation pipelines using GitLab CI/CD runners.
โ€ข Interface with QNX hypervisor-based systems, Android VMs, and Linux management VMs for testing and validation.
โ€ข Perform hardware integration and testing on platforms such as ASB/QASB seat boxes and virtual headend systems.
โ€ข Support test execution across multiple environments: developer desktop, virtual racks (AWS), mini racks, and full physical racks.
โ€ข Assist in porting and adapting existing Robot Framework tests into Pytest suit in PAC infrastructure.
โ€ข Contribute to system-level testing including touch screen simulation, audio/video interfaces, USB, Ethernet, and Bluetooth.
โ€ข Provide technical recommendations for long-term scalability and framework evolution.
Preferred Qualifications:
โ€ข Experience in fault injection testing and hardware simulation tools.
โ€ข Familiarity with GMSL (Gigabit Multimedia Serial Link) and IP-based peripheral communication.
Understanding test scheduling and orchestration frameworks.
โ€ข Prior experience in aerospace, automotive, or infotainment domains.
