Job description

Who we are

With its A.I.-powered robotic technology platform, Symbotic is changing the way consumer goods move through the supply chain. Intelligent software orchestrates advanced robots in a high-density, end-to-end system - reinventing warehouse automation for increased efficiency, speed and flexibility.

What we need

We are looking for a Senior Network Operations Manager to join our Infrastructure and Network Operations team within our Information Technology organization. Your job will be to lead the operational strategy, reliability, and evolution of Symbotic's global network infrastructure across corporate offices, customer deployments, and industrial automation environments.

This role combines strategic leadership with deep technical oversight and is responsible for maintaining secure, highly available, and scalable networking operations. The ideal candidate will lead and mentor a team of engineers while driving initiatives across routing and switching, security, SD-WAN, wireless infrastructure, and operational excellence in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

What we do

The Infrastructure and Network Operations team is part of the Information Technology organization which is responsible for delivering, securing, and maintaining the global network infrastructure that powers Symbotic's robotics automation systems and enterprise operations.

This team supports mission-critical connectivity across warehouses, customer deployments, corporate offices, and cloud-connected environments while ensuring operational resilience, security, scalability, high availability, and continuous improvement across the organization.

What you'll do

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of network engineers while supporting technical growth, operational excellence, and resource planning.

  • Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of enterprise network infrastructure, ensuring high availability, operational stability, and rapid incident response.

  • Manage network security operations including Palo Alto and Cisco firewall technologies, VPN connectivity, and security policy governance.

  • Direct the implementation and optimization of Aruba EdgeConnect (Silver Peak) SD-WAN solutions across branch and customer locations.

  • Manage enterprise wireless environments leveraging Aruba controller-based architectures and Cisco wireless technologies.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for ISPs, hardware vendors, and third-party partners to ensure successful delivery of services and adherence to SLAs.

  • Lead operational incident response activities, participate in a rotating on-call support schedule approximately once every three months, and travel up to 10% to customer and corporate locations as needed.

What you'll need

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.

  • Minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience in network engineering and infrastructure operations, including a minimum of 3 years of leadership or people management experience.

  • Expert-level knowledge of enterprise routing and switching technologies including BGP, OSPF, and STP.

  • Proven experience managing Next-Generation Firewalls (NGFW), specifically Palo Alto Panorama or Cisco firewall technologies.

  • Deep understanding of SD-WAN architecture, deployment strategies, and operational management utilizing Aruba EdgeConnect (Silver Peak) or Cisco SD-WAN technologies.

  • Hands-on experience supporting Aruba Mobility Conductors/Controllers, Aruba wireless environments, Cisco DNA Center, or Cisco WLC platforms, with industrial networking experience highly preferred.

  • Preferred certifications include CCNP, CCIE, PCNSE, Aruba Certified Mobility Professional (ACMP), or equivalent advanced networking certifications.

Our environment

  • This position operates in a combination of office and industrial environments, with approximately 90% of time spent in active industrial and warehouse facilities and 10% in a traditional office setting. Team members may be exposed to moving mechanical equipment, automated robotic systems, elevated noise levels, and varying temperatures within operational sites.

  • Candidates must be comfortable working in and around large-scale automation environments while following all required safety protocols and personal protective equipment (PPE) guidelines.

  • Travel up to 10% may be required to customer and corporate locations across the United States.
