Director, Digital Transformation and Intelligent Automation – Houston, TX (Hybrid, 4 days in office)

Tokio Marine HCC is seeking a Director of Digital Transformation to lead our efforts in driving efficiency and innovation through automation technologies, including Robotic Process Automation (RPA) and Artificial Intelligence (AI). In this role, you will lead a team of developers, business analysts, project managers, and solutions architects to design, build, and implement intelligent automation solutions that streamline business operations and significantly reduce manual effort. Reporting to the VP of Digital Transformation, this role is responsible for shaping the strategic direction of automation initiatives, ensuring the successful delivery of high‑impact projects, and fostering a high‑performing team culture. You will collaborate with various business units, assess opportunities for automation, and lead the execution of RPA and AI technologies that enhance operational efficiency and drive business growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a cross‑functional team of developers, business analysts, project managers, and solutions architects to implement and scale automation initiatives using RPA and AI technologies.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to identify automation opportunities that streamline business processes and reduce manual effort.
  • Develop and communicate business cases for automation solutions, including cost‑benefit analyses, and evaluate the ROI of automation projects.
  • Oversee the design and implementation of RPA and AI solutions that align with business objectives and drive measurable improvements in efficiency and accuracy.
  • Manage the end‑to‑end automation project lifecycle, from identifying opportunities through to deployment and ongoing optimization.
  • Drive team performance through effective leadership, ensuring the delivery of high‑quality automation projects in a timely manner with a focus on customer satisfaction.
  • Develop and implement KPIs and metrics to assess team performance, continuously improving processes and outcomes.

Education Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Experience
  • 10+ years of experience in digital transformation, with a focus on automation technologies such as RPA and AI.
  • Proven track record in leading automation projects, from concept through execution, with a strong understanding of business processes and how to automate them.
  • Familiarity with UIPath or similar RPA tools; experience with Generative AI is a plus but not required.
  • Experience in developing and implementing KPIs, performance metrics, and ROI assessments for automation projects.
  • Strong leadership experience, including team management, program development, and performance improvement.
  • 6+ years of experience leading teams and strategic initiatives in a technology-driven environment.
  • Ability to foster a collaborative and high‑performance culture, developing team members and ensuring their success.
