Job description

VA Sierra Nevada Health Care System in Reno, NV is on the hunt for a passionate full-time Board Certified/Board Eligible Anesthesiologist. Join our dynamic surgical team and provide exceptional care in diverse surgical procedures, ranging from general, vascular, and thoracic surgeries to orthopedic, GU, ENT, ophthalmology, and podiatric operations. You'll also be integral for diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in our cardiac catheterization lab and interventional radiology.
What You'll Do:
  • Conduct pre-operative patient exams and prepare them for anesthesia.
  • Administer general and regional anesthesia, and provide monitored anesthesia care.
  • Ensure patient homeostasis during perioperative and critical care periods.
  • Diagnose and treat painful syndromes.
  • Manage and teach cardiac and pulmonary resuscitation methods.
  • Evaluate respiratory functions and implement respiratory therapies.
  • Supervise, teach, and assess both medical and paramedical personnel.
  • Engage in groundbreaking research to enhance evidence-based practices.
  • Provide direct patient care across multiple settings including OR, PACU, ICU, ward, and out-of-OR procedures.
  • Participate in administrative and quality improvement activities.
