Job Summary:
AlphaOne Robotics is an innovative company transforming warehouse automation, and they are seeking a Junior Robotics Software Engineer to support foundational technologies. In this role, you will assist with testing and debugging integrated hardware-software systems, gaining hands-on experience in various robotics applications.
Responsibilities:
โ€ข Assist with software development and debugging under senior guidance
โ€ข Contribute to coding, testing, and debugging of software features and applications.
โ€ข Help implement minor enhancements, bug fixes, or configuration changes.
โ€ข Contribute to continuous testing efforts: Develop and maintain test cases, identify potential edge cases, and ensure ongoing system reliability and performance in dynamic warehouse scenarios.
โ€ข Support integrated system testing of robotic warehouse automation solutions
โ€ข Operate robotic systems during test runs to validate functionality and performance.
โ€ข Document observed issues, symptoms, and perform preliminary root cause analysis.
โ€ข Analyze test data (logs, sensor readings, cycle metrics) to support diagnostics and improvements.
โ€ข Create and maintain documentation - Document test procedures, observed behaviors, software features, and integration details to support team knowledge sharing.

Qualifications:
Required:
โ€ข Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Robotics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Software/Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation, or a closely related field
โ€ข Equivalent practical experience may substitute for formal education
โ€ข Basic proficiency in Python and/or C++ programming (e.g., writing scripts, simple functions, loops, conditionals, and basic debugging)
โ€ข Hands-on experience with software-hardware integrated system testing or development (gained through academic projects, internships, co-ops, personal robotics builds, or lab work etc.)
โ€ข 1+ years of relevant experience (internships, co-ops, capstone projects, or personal/hobby projects count fully)
โ€ข Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and debug issues in software or integrated systems
Preferred:
โ€ข Exposure to tools such as Git/version control and robotics framework or simulation environments such as ROS, Gazebo etc.
โ€ข Basic knowledge of control systems, PLC programming, sensors, or industrial automation concepts
โ€ข Experience with industrial robots (e.g., Fanuc, Universal Robots, or similar arms) or related hardware
โ€ข Any coursework or projects involving machine vision, autonomous navigation, motion planning, or embedded systems etc.
