Job Description

The Warehouse Associate is responsible for operating a forklift, handling shipping and receiving activities, and efficiently moving materials within the warehouse. You will also contribute to inventory management, complete necessary paperwork for warehouse operations, and ensure proper maintenance of the warehouse. Safe operation of warehouse equipment is a key aspect of the role. The ideal candidate should possess excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. The Warehouse Associate typically reports to the Operations Manager and works under moderate supervision.


Responsibilities

  • Receive incoming cargo by safely unloading from trucks or containers using appropriate equipment such as hand tools, hand trucks, pallet jacks, or forklifts.
  • Verify and accurately record the count and condition of received cargo. Document and securely store items in designated locations.
  • Prepare equipment for outgoing orders, ensuring precise labeling for correct destination.
  • Segregate outgoing cargo based on purchase order, customer, or freight carrier requirements.
  • Conduct periodic inventory counts to maintain real-time and accurate inventory levels.
  • Perform essential warehouse maintenance tasks, including sweeping floors and organizing equipment.
  • Operate a forklift to load, unload, and move materials with utmost safety.
  • Inspect materials for any damage, defects, or discrepancies and promptly report any issues to the supervisor.
  • Assist with inventory management by conducting regular stock counts and updating inventory records.
  • Maintain precise and up-to-date records of all inventory transactions. Complete necessary paperwork accurately.
  • Adhere strictly to safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a secure work environment.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the hiring manager.

Qualifications

  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to effectively prioritize workloads.
