If you are a electrical motor mechanic who enjoys working with your hands, breaking down and repairing motors we’d like to talk to you about our Electric Motor Mechanic position in Glen Ellyn, IL. We are looking for a electrical motor mechanic who has great mechanical aptitude and enjoys applying their skills and abilities to diagnose and repair motors so we can better our repairs on our electric motors.

Summary: Repairs electric motors, pumps, gear boxes, generators, and related electro/mechanical devices and equipment by performing the following duties:


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Uses mechanical aptitude for assembling, disassembling, and repair of electro-mechanical apparatus
  • Assemble, disassemble, and repair electro-mechanical apparatus
  • Diagnose failure modes and recommend repairs/corrections on electro-mechanical apparatus
  • No-load and load-test run electro-mechanical apparatus
  • Examine and inspect electrical connections, windings, coils, etc.
  • Clean parts via sandblasting, solvent cleaning, steam cleaning, hand polishing, with toolings, and/or other methods
  • Paint parts and whole assemblies of electro-mechanical apparatus
  • Install bearings and precision parts with care
  • Perform field service calls when requested to help diagnose, install, remove, modify, and/or align electro-mechanical apparatus
  • Balance rotating apparatus
  • Inspect and measure mechanical parts for wear
  • Follow test sheets, drawings, international standards, and other processes to ensure electro-mechanical tolerances are met or exceeded
  • Document all measurements and conditions on computer and handwriting during entire repair process
  • Coordinates job duties with supervisors to meet due dates
  • Various other duties as assigned
