Job Title: Part-Time Lead STEAM Instructor In-School & After-School Programs
Location: Johnson County, KS
Job Type: Part-Time
Salary: $30$50 per hour

Position Overview:
Were seeking an energetic Part-Time Lead STEAM Instructor to teach Snapology programs in elementary schools and early learning centers across Johnson County. Classes are typically held during the school day, after school, or right after dismissal. Ideal candidates have classroom teaching experience (or similar work with children) and a passion for STEAM education. This role is perfect for educators, substitute teachers, paraeducators, or education students interested in hands-on learning.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead engaging, hands-on STEAM lessons using Snapologys curriculum.
  • Create a safe, supportive classroom environment that encourages positive student behavior.
  • Adapt lessons to meet diverse needs and grade levels.
  • Prepare in advance by reviewing lesson plans and training resources.
  • Manage materials such as LEGO bricks, robotics kits, and tablets.
  • Communicate professionally with school staff, administrators, and families.
  • Promote ongoing student participation in Snapology programs.
  • Attend occasional training sessions and team meetings.
Types of Programs:

  • In-School Workshops during the school day.
  • After-School Clubs offered immediately after dismissal.
  • Special Events including STEAM nights, holiday breaks, and family engagement.
  • Optional Summer Camps & Weekend Workshops based on availability.
Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least one year of classroom or school-based experience (teacher, para, substitute, etc.); camp or coaching experience a plus.
  • Bachelors degree in Education or related field preferred; students pursuing Education degrees encouraged.
  • Must pass background and child abuse clearances.
  • Reliable transportation, valid drivers license, and insurance required.
  • Strong classroom management, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Consistent, punctual, and dependable.
