Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our engineering team at Hunter Foundry Machinery. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in mechanical design, manufacturing processes, and equipment maintenance, with a strong focus on foundry machinery and industrial automation systems.

Key Responsibilities

· Design and develop industrial machinery incorporating robotic systems, automation equipment, and thermal management solutions.

· Engineer and optimize heat dissipation, cooling, ventilation, insulation, and temperature control systems for high-temperature applications.

· Integrate mechanical systems with industrial robots, robotic end-of-arm tooling (EOAT), conveyors, and automated material handling equipment.

· Conduct thermal and mechanical performance analysis to ensure machine reliability, safety, and operational efficiency.

· Collaborate with controls, electrical, and automation engineers to develop fully integrated machine solutions.

· Support machine commissioning, validation, and troubleshooting of both robotic and thermal management systems.

· Replace/Expand Qualifications

· Minimum 3+ years of experience designing custom machinery, automation equipment, robotic cells, or industrial production systems.

· Experience designing machines operating in high-temperature environments with thermal management requirements.

· Knowledge of heat transfer, thermal analysis, cooling systems, heat exchangers, ventilation systems, and thermal insulation materials.

· Experience working with industrial robots (ABB, FANUC, KUKA, Yaskawa, Universal Robots, or similar).

· Strong understanding of machine design, manufacturing processes, GD&T, and machine safety standards.

· Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks, Inventor, Creo, or AutoCAD.

· Preferred Skills

· Experience designing robotic foundry, casting, metal processing, or material handling equipment.

· Familiarity with thermal simulation and FEA tools.

· Experience with automated machine building, robotics integration, and industrial automation projects.

· Knowledge of high-temperature industrial processes, furnaces, molten metal handling, or heat-treatment systems.

· Understanding of machine safety standards such as ANSI/RIA, ISO 10218, and CE requirements.
