Job description

We are seeking an independently self-motivated team player to join Century Mold.

What Youโ€™ll Be Doing:

  • System Design & Development:
    • Design, develop, and configure hardware and software solutions for automated machines and processes.
    • Support plants with onsite reviews and implementation of projects.
    • Develop, maintain, and enforce automation and controls standards across equipment and facilities.
    • Lead or participate in machine safety risk assessments and ensure automation designs comply with applicable safety standards and regulations.
  • Technical Leadership:
    • Provide technical leadership and expertise in automation, acting as a subject matter expert (SME).
    • Provide technical oversight and design approval for system integrators and automation vendors.
  • Project Management:
    • Manage multiple automation projects from quote/conception to completion, this includes planning, budgeting, vendor selection, and management.
    • Lead and manage automation projects from planning to execution, ensuring alignment with business strategy and regulatory guidelines.
    • Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
    • Ability to work independently and in team settings across multiple projects and plants.
  • Mentorship:
    • Guide and train automation engineers and other team members on best practices and new technologies.
    • Train and support automation engineers, AME, plants, and other team members.
  • Documentation:
    • Create and contribute to scope of work documentation.
    • Develop comprehensive documentation for automated processes and systems for future reference and maintenance.
    • Support FAT/SAT development, reviews, and sign off.
    • Support PFMEA development.
    • Development and execution of lessons learned and best practices.
  • Troubleshooting:
    • Diagnose and resolve issues with automation systems and hardware to ensure optimal performance and reliability.

We would love to hear from you if:

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor of Engineering, Computer Technology, or a related field preferred
  • Minimum 5 yearsโ€™ experience in automation machine control, process control, or equivalent work experience in a related field.
  • Experience with automation for injection molding processes, industry 4.0, and AI integrations is desirable.
  • Advanced proficiency in PLC programming, HMI/SCADA systems, and industrial networks; experience with robotics, vision systems, and motion control preferred.

Computer Skills:

  • Proficient with Unigraphics (NX), SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office Suite; Ability to learn new software as needed.
