Position Summary
ARIS Technology is seeking a Robotics Engineer to help develop next-generation robotic 3D scanning and intelligent automation systems. In this role, you will work across robotics, motion control, simulation, software, and mechatronics to design and deploy advanced solutions for industrial customers. You will contribute to the development of robotic systems powered by digital twin technology, advanced perception, and AI-driven workflows. From concept and simulation through customer deployment, you'll play a key role in transforming innovative ideas into production-ready solutions.
This position is ideal for an engineer who enjoys combing hands-on system development with robotics software, controls, and customer-focused problem solving.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Design, integrate, and deploy custom robotic automation systems
  • Develop robotic motion solutions using simulation, offline programming, and advanced motion planning techniques
  • Design EOAT and mechanical components using CAD and rapid prototyping tools
  • Configure, test, and validate robotic systems prior to customer deployment
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, and controls issues throughout the product lifecycle
  • Collaborate with software, metrology, and other engineers to deliver complete systems
  • Support customer installations and provide remote technical assistance
  • Research and evaluate emerging robotics technologies and components
  • Create prototype software tools for integration and communication testing
  • Advise leadership regarding product performance and suggestions for product improvements

Required Qualifications
  • Industrial Automation and Systems Integration experience, including development, implementation, and evaluation
  • Experience designing and building complex systems, such as industrial automated systems
  • Proven ability to design systems utilizing current technology including CAD and 3D Modeling in programs such as SolidWorks
  • Prior work experience in motion control systems including servo motors, stepper motors, sensors, switches, power distribution, and electrical
  • Testing, troubleshooting, and validation experience at company work site, remotely, or at client work site
  • Professional experience or working knowledge in robotic motion planning, tool path generation, and inverse kinematics
  • Demonstrable mechanical and electrical aptitude, including proficiency with hand tools, measuring tools, and precision instruments
  • Accustomed to creating and documenting tests and experience working in a test-driven environment
  • Creative thinking which allows for designs of new, innovative products
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to translate client requirements into multiple solution options and explain the benefits and disadvantages of various approaches
  • General knowledge of Windows OS
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechatronics Engineering, Robotics Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, Design Engineering, or related Engineering field
  • A valid and current driver's license is required for client and vendor visits

Preferred Qualifications
  • Collaborative robot (cobot) experience
  • Robotics software experience: Fanuc, Yaskawa, UR, ABB
  • Professional experience with 3D scanners
  • Ability to evaluate and select mechanical, electrical, and automation components for integrated robotic systems
  • Experience documenting test results, communicating findings, and recommending product or process improvements
  • Familiar with localization as it relates to robotics
  • Knowledge of algorithmic concepts such as scene graphs, spatial data structures, and physics simulations
  • Manufacturing industry experience
  • Experience working in a start-up and/or matrix environment
  • General knowledge of Linux
