Job description

The Missions, Concepts and Capabilities (MCC) division of Applied Research Associates, Inc. (ARA) is seeking a Senior Technical Integration SME with a background in C5ISR and electronic warfare systems to provide technical, analytical, and programmatic support to the Office of the Undersecretary of Defense for Research and Engineering (OUSW(R&E)) in the investment and monitoring of R&D funds. This position is onsite at a Government location(s) in the National Capital Region (and telecommuting where approved). The candidate demonstrates mature judgement required to interface with senior Government personnel and external stakeholders including other Government agencies, academia, and industry. The candidate also coordinates administrative functions and process improvement
This position is contingent upon customer acceptance. Position is expected to start in summer 2026.
Essential Functions:
  • Science, engineering, technical, management, and professional support
  • OUSW(R&E) research, analysis, and strategic planning support for C5ISR and electronic warfare systems
  • Specialized functional expertise support, g., acquisition, military science, statistics
  • Technology transfer, technology transition, public/private partnership support
  • Developing graphical materials and documents
  • Performing records management
  • Recommending resolution to problem sets/challenges

Required Qualifications:
  • Masters degree in computer science, engineering, materials engineering, chemistry, physics, or another relevant technical discipline
  • 6-8 years of related experience
  • Top Secret security clearance with TS/SCI eligibility
  • Experience supporting US Government clients
  • Experience coordinating across multiple organizations

Desired Qualifications:
  • Ten+ years of progressive experience, 5+ years of experience in project management
  • Experience developing or managing emerging military technologies
  • MS/MA or Ph.D. in a relevant discipline

Compensation & Benefits: Pay Range: $110,000 - 140,000.00 per year, based on years of experience, education, and any specialized skills or knowledge brought to the position.
