DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Operates a robotic welder.
  2. Performs light maintenance such as replacing wire or changing weld tips.
  3. Perform quality checks using Quality Department approved tools.
  4. Inform the necessary supervisor/lead person of any equipment-related problems or concerns that may affect the quality of parts produced.
  5. Manual welding is occasionally required to touch up the part or to weld a portion of the part the robot cannot reach.
  6. Clocking on jobs and parts accurately.
  7. Follow instructions from Steel Tech Enterprises and equipment documentation, including Shop Traveler, equipment manuals, and blueprints.
  8. Maintain all required documentation.
  9. Exhibits consistent safe working habits.
  10. Wears all required Personal protective Equipment (PPE).
  11. Maintain clean, clutter-free work area.
  12. Perform other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • A willingness to learn and be trained on Robotic Welding related tasks.
  • General skills with hand and air tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Ability to read different measuring tools.

This is a safety-sensitive position. This work is performed in a manufacturing setting with moderate to high levels of noise due to machinery and equipment processes. This position requires the use of personal protective equipment for safety compliance and may include overtime as deemed necessary by management.
