The Automation Service Manager primary responsibilities include but not limited to, supporting the maintenance, repair, and service operations for CNC plasma, robotic plasma systems, and robotic welding systems. The Automation Service Manager will support and guide a team of service technicians, facilitating excellent service delivery, efficiency, and compliance with safety standards utilizing their education and related experience in CNC cutting systems and robotic welding technologies, coupled with the daily duties associated with supporting the performance of the Service Technician Team.

  • Team Guidance & Collaboration: Support, mentor, and guide a team of service technicians responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of CNC plasma, robotic plasma systems, and robotic welding systems.

  • Service Operations Management: Facilitate timely and effective service delivery, supporting all aspects of repair, preventive maintenance, and technical support for clients' automation systems.

  • Workplace Safety: Foster and nurture a safety-first culture across all service activities, supporting adherence to safety protocols, personal protective equipment (PPE) usage, and regulatory compliance. Conduct regular safety training, audits, and drills to minimize risks associated with CNC and robotic system operations.

  • Technical Expertise: Provide expert guidance on troubleshooting, system diagnostics, and repair of CNC and robotic systems. Assist technicians with complex issues and escalations.

  • Leverage Service for Business Growth: Identify opportunities during service interactions to promote and recommend Airgas' gas products and hardgoods. Collaborate with sales teams to ensure that service activities contribute to overall business growth, driving sales of gasses, consumables, and welding-related products.

  • Customer Support: Build strong relationships with clients, ensuring their needs are met and issues resolved promptly. Act as the primary point of contact for high-priority service issues.

  • Training & Development: Develop and implement training programs for service technicians to ensure their skills remain up-to-date with evolving technologies.

  • Safety & Compliance: Facilitate compliance with company safety policies and industry regulations, including OSHA and other relevant guidelines across all service activities.

  • Resource Management: Allocate resources effectively to meet service demand, supporting optimal utilization of personnel and equipment.

  • Continuous Improvement: Review and improve service procedures and workflows to enhance efficiency, reduce downtime, and facilitate high-quality service delivery.

  • Vendor Relations: Work with equipment manufacturers and vendors to ensure parts availability, technical support, and product updates.

________________________Are you a MATCH? Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience managing service teams in an industrial or automation setting.

  • Extensive knowledge of CNC plasma cutting systems, robotic plasma systems, and robotic welding systems.

  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.

  • Proven leadership experience with the ability to motivate and manage a team of skilled technicians.

  • Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety, with experience implementing and overseeing safety programs.

  • Candidates must have valid employment authorization in the U.S. and must not require visa sponsorship now or in the future. This position is not open for non-immigrant visa sponsorship.

  • Familiarity with industry safety standards and regulations, including OSHA.

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
