Summary

The Process Automation Engineer is responsible for identifying, defining, designing, implementing, and supporting artificial intelligence (AI) and business process automation solutions across the organization. Reporting to the Director Business Process Excellence, this role serves as a strategic and technical partner to all business functions, defining, developing, and delivering solutions that automate redundant administrative processes, reduce manual handoffs between departments, reduce manual touches by humans, improve efficiency, reduce manual work, enhance decision-making, and accelerate growth through the effective use of AI and automation technologies.

The ideal candidate combines strong technical skills with business acumen, enabling them to understand operational challenges and translate them into scalable technology solutions. This position will evaluate emerging AI and process automation technologies, develop automation workflows, establish governance standards, and drive adoption of AI capabilities throughout the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to departments including Operations, Engineering, Sales, Customer Service, Finance, and HR.
  • Gather requirements and translate business needs into technical solutions.
  • Define, design, develop, deliver, and support automated business processes.
  • Establish, deploy, and maintain secure private AI and Large Language Model (LLM) platforms, including on-premises solutions, to ensure company data, intellectual property, and customer information remain protected.
  • Develop and maintain AI knowledge systems that leverage internal engineering, product, quality, service, and operational data while ensuring information remains secure and accessible only to authorized users.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Business Information Systems, or related field.
  • 3+ years relevant experience in business process optimization, software development, business systems improvement, or process automation.
  • Working, practical knowledge of AI tools and platforms.
  • Experience with workflow automation platforms.
  • Experience with integrating systems using APIs, cloud services, and LLMs.
  • Strong problem-solving and business analysis skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Experience with on-premises deployment/maintenance of LLM.
  • Strong experience working in a manufacturing company, working with manufacturing operations, sales and sales operations, accounting, and finance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with generative AI platforms including Microsoft Copilot, Open AI, Anthropic, or similar technologies.
  • Experience developing AI agents, chatbots, or knowledge management systems.
  • Experience with SQL, Python, JavaScript, or other scripting/programming languages.
  • Experience leading digital transformation initiatives.
  • AI, cloud, or automation certifications.
  • Experience with on-premise ERP system Infor Syteline and manufacturing systems.
  • Experience working with systems and AI platforms in cloud hosted applications like HubSpot CRM, StarShip, Power BI/Fabric, SharePoint, Power Automate.
  • Strong experience working in a manufacturing company, working with manufacturing operations, sales and sales operations, accounting, and finance.


Location: Longmont, CO

Base Compensation: $115,000 - $134,000 is the projected annual base salary range and will be determined based on the candidate’s overall qualifications and experience.


Bonus: This position is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.
