Job description

Our Common Services Engineers design, develop, maintain, support, document, test, and/or debug new and existing software systems, applications, and/or technical infrastructure.

Location: this position offers a hybrid work location (onsite at Meridian Idaho campus and local WFH).

Education Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, or closely related field of study or equivalent work experience (two years’ relevant work experience is equivalent to one-year college)
  • Associate’s Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, or closely related field of study + 2 years additional experience
Required Experience
  • 2+ years’ design or development of software applications, systems, technology infrastructure, or related experience to include: UI Path / RPA experience
  • General knowledge of AI tools and functionality
  • Working knowledge of Service Now, GitLab, Snowflake, Confluence, SharePoint, AWS, JIRA
  • Troubleshooting technology problems, documenting solutions or escalating as necessary
  • Managing user accounts and setting up new jobs in respective areas
  • Ability to mentor and coach other engineers
  • Familiar with Agile Methodology and SAFe
Responsibilities
  • Engineers, configures, monitors, manages, and troubleshoots software systems, applications, and/or technical infrastructure.
  • Researches, implements, monitors, manages, patch, and troubleshoot various systems, software, and/or technologies.
  • Monitors application performance by anticipating and correction operational issues before occurrence.
  • Develops tools and/or scripts to support and improve current software, systems, or technology build and release process and continuous integration and delivery initiatives.
  • Automates software deployment processes and develops automation tools.
  • Ensures the integrity of the builds and artifacts.
  • Creates test processes and procedures used to ensure that software operates within defined requirements.
  • Implements test plans, automation, and validation strategies.
  • Develops and maintains automated test scripts to reduce repetitive manual testing.
  • Participates in full development lifecycle including requirements analysis and design.
  • Writes technical specifications based on conceptual design and stated business requirements.
  • Supports, maintains, and documents software functionality.
  • Analyzes code to find causes of errors and revises programs.
  • May review solution performance and continually assess health of software, systems, and/or technologies.
  • Tracks and drives awareness to operational and technical risks.
Compensation

As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay range is $96,183 to $144,275. The position is eligible for an annual incentive bonus (variable depending on company and employee performance). The pay range for this position takes into account a wide range of factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, relevant experience, skills, seniority, performance, travel requirements, internal equity, business or organizational needs, and alignment with market data. At Blue Cross of Idaho, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top range for the position. Compensation decisions are dependent on factors and circumstances at the time of offer.
