Job description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Working with a multi-disciplined team to develop production processes starting at program concept using prior process representations along with computer models to simulate the processes and provide valuable feedback on part manufacturability to our internal team and to the customer's design team.
  • Take simulated assembly processes from concept to the production floor by 3D CAD design, component procurement, machine building and control programming of equipment. This assembly equipment typically employs various robotic types, programmable logic controllers (PLC), Human / Machine Interfaces (HMI), pneumatics, camera systems and other automated & manual assembly tools.
  • Management of capital projects from concept to completion including layout, equipment specifications, justification for equipment purchases, negotiation of equipment pricing with suppliers, procuring equipment, coordinate equipment rigging & installation with external contractors, debugging and training how to operate new equipment.
  • Analyze and modify existing assembly processes to improve safety, quality, productivity and reliability. Travel to our TG Group companies may be required periodically.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Technical Bachelor's degree (B.S) from four-year college or university Experience with PLC programming, 3D CAD modeling packages like SolidWorks and Microsoft Office programs like Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project and Access are a plus.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
