Description
Responsible for coordinating, and administering the Nurse Aide Program within the Continuing Education Department. The Nurse Aide Coordinator ensures compliance with all applicable state, federal, and institutional requirements governing Nurse Aide education and training. The coordinator will also coordinate assigned activities with other college departments, clinical partners, regulatory agencies, and community stakeholders.
Detailed Work Activities
Essential Duties
• Coordinating and supporting qualified instructors to ensure effective instruction in all classes.
• Serve as the primary coordinator for the Nurse Aide Testing Site
• Assume coordinator responsibilities for activities of Nurse Aide.
• Serve as the primary coordinator for the Nurse Aide Testing site.
• Participate in the implementation of goals, objectives, policies, and priorities for assigned programs.
• Oversee and coordinate activities with clinical partners, regulatory agencies and affiliated organizations.
• Monitor and enforce program compliance with state and federal laws, rules and regulations.
• Recommend, within departmental policy and guidelines, appropriate instructional resources. Recommend and administer program procedures.
• Continuously monitor and evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of service delivery methods, and procedures; identify opportunities for improvement and review with the Director.
• Train, motivate, and evaluate Nurse Aide adjunct personnel; work with employees to correct deficiencies.
• Coordinate, and review Nurse Aide training activities; assign work activities and projects; monitor workflow and evaluate program effectiveness.
• Serve as liaison with other college departments, divisions, and present staff reports and other necessary correspondence as needed.
• Ensure compliance with all requirements established by the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services, Health Care Personnel Registry (HCPR), Center for Aide Regulation and Education (CARE), North Carolina Community College System, and Robeson Community College.
• Oversee submittal of required documentation for state and federal organizations.
• Promote relationships with agency partners.
Planning
• Participating in the institutional planning process, as requested by the Executive Vice President for Workforce Development, Continuing Education and Institutional Services.
• Assist with identifying workforce training needs and developing educational opportunities that support local healthcare employers.
• Identifying potential services, workshops, seminars, and/or classes that would be of value or needed by Robeson Community College or its affiliated foundation.
Organizing
• Assisting with the development and revision of all official policies of Robeson Community College, as requested.
• Organizing, planning, and consulting with advisory committees, healthcare partners, and regulatory agencies to maintain current and effective Nurse Aide education practices.
• Stimulating and influencing innovation and creativity at all levels within the organization.
• Serve as a role model and advocate for healthcare education and workforce development within Robeson Community College and throughout North Carolina.
• Maintaining compliance with the fiscal management system policies and procedures set forth for the college.
• Implementing the equipment management system policies and procedures for Robeson Community College, the North Carolina Community College System, and other entities.
Public Relations
• Maintaining intra-institution relationships with members of the Board of Trustees, administrative personnel and other employees of the college.
• Providing appropriate liaison support with the North Carolina Community College System, Robeson Community College and other relational entities.
• Collaborating with the NCCCS staff on public relations and marketing opportunities.
• Promoting Robeson Community College and the Nurse Aide Program with local, state, regional, and national levels.
• Participating in activities that promote and enhance the college's image among its various public sectors.
Student Support
• Assist students with eligibility requirements for placement on the North Carolina Nurse Aide Registry.
• Coordinate student retention and success initiatives.
• Maintain student records and documentation required by institutional and regula-tory agencies.
Other
• Performing other duties as assigned by the President of Robeson Community College.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
  • The applicant is a registered nurse with an unencumbered license.
  • The applicant is licensed to practice in NorthCarolina.
  • The applicant has at least two (2)years (4000hours) of experience as a registered nurse in the United States.
  • The applicant has at least one (1) year (2000 hours) of RN experience in the provision of long-term care facility services in the United States demonstrated by: working in a long-term care facility licensed as a skilled nursing facility or a skilled nursing facility which is a distinct part of a hospital, or supervising or teaching students in a long-term care facility licensed as a skilled nursing facility or a skilled nursing facility which is a distinct part of a hospital.
