What is a roadshow?
A Roadshow job typically involves organizing and managing promotional events, investor meetings, or marketing tours across multiple locations. Professionals in this role coordinate logistics, schedules, and presentations to showcase products, services, or investment opportunities to targeted audiences. It requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to adapt to fast-paced environments. Roadshows are commonly used in industries like finance, entertainment, and corporate marketing.
What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the roadshow position, and why are they important?
To thrive as a Roadshow Coordinator or Manager, you need strong project management, event planning, and logistical coordination abilities, often supported by experience in marketing or corporate communications. Familiarity with scheduling software, CRM systems, event management platforms, and basic budgeting tools is typically required. Exceptional interpersonal skills, multitasking ability, and attention to detail set standout professionals apart in this role. These capabilities are critical for executing seamless promotional tours or corporate presentations that require tight coordination and high stakeholder satisfaction.
What are some common challenges faced by professionals managing roadshow events?
One common challenge in managing roadshows is coordinating multiple logistics across various locations, including travel arrangements, venue bookings, and equipment transport. Additionally, roadshow professionals need to adapt quickly to unexpected changes, such as last-minute schedule adjustments or technical issues onsite. Working collaboratively with vendors, clients, and internal teams is vital to ensure every aspect of the presentation runs smoothly. Despite the fast pace and frequent travel, this role offers rewarding experiences and opportunities to build strong industry relationships while showcasing your organizational skills.

The Job at a Glance
Unique product sales opportunity for a dynamic, friendly, and engaging salesperson. The Heartland Roadshow, established in 2009, is a premier buyer of estate jewelry, precious metals, gold and silver coins, antiques, and collectibles. If you’ve ever seen “Antiques Roadshow”, this is similar to what we do. We set up scheduled Regional acquisition events locations throughout the region, where customers come to sell us their estate items - primarily gold, silver, coins, and watches, collectables and antiques. This is an acquisition-focused role where success is measured by the quality and volume of inventory purchased rather than traditional outbound sales. No cold calling, no prospecting, and no high-pressure sales - just a friendly and informative process. Our robust, fully paid five-week training program focuses on industry-standard techniques for identifying and authenticating precious metals. No jewelry buying experience is necessary - we provide full training. The most important quality we are looking for is the ability to connect effectively with customers.

Schedule & Travel Expectations
Buyers will be assigned to shows both within their home region and in locations that require extended travel. An example of the standard working schedule follows a consistent two-week cycle but may vary occasionally depending on the business needs:
- 5 days on / 1 day off / 5 days on / 3 days off
- Week 1 typically runs Tuesday–Saturday
- Week 2 typically runs Monday–Friday
Buyers should expect to travel approximately two weeks each month.
Travel is fully paid - both your time, as well as all travel expenses.
Travel may include assignments outside your home region where flights and lodging will be arranged. During these travel periods, your scheduled days off will be spent in the destination city. While you’ll have free time to explore or rest, flying home for personal obligations during off-days is not logistically feasible.
When assigned to shows within your home region, travel is typically done using your own reliable transportation. These assignments may offer more personal scheduling flexibility with advance notice and alignment with business needs.
This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy variety, are comfortable being on the road, and can commit to a structured schedule with regular travel. There is no cold calling in this role – meet with warm, pre-qualified leads.
