Johnson Equipment Sales & Service is expanding, and we’re looking for an experienced Heavy Diesel Road Service Technician to join our Farmington, NY team. If you take pride in diagnosing problems, working independently, and keeping equipment safely on the road, this role offers strong pay, stability, and the freedom of road-based repair work.


This is a full-time, first-shift position: Monday–Friday, 7 AM–4 PM, with overtime available and an after-hours bonus for any service call outside scheduled hours or on weekends.

What You’ll Do

As a Road Service Technician, you’ll be the frontline expert keeping our customers moving. You’ll diagnose issues, perform repairs, and represent Johnson Equipment with professionalism and skill.


Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose mechanical issues using specialized tools and equipment
  • Perform brake, tire, heater, and defroster repairs
  • Road-test equipment to verify repairs
  • Deliver efficient, high-quality repairs that meet time standards
  • Provide excellent customer service to drivers and the Repair Coordinator
  • Maintain a clean, safe work environment and follow all safety protocols
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
Requirements:What You Need to Succeed
  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2+ years of experience working on 48’/53’ equipment
  • Component training or trailer tech certifications preferred
  • Your own basic tool set
  • Valid Class A license with at least 6 months of experience
  • Strong mechanical, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently in the field
