    Job description

    Job Summary

    The Registered Nurse (RN) – Clinical Operations Specialist supports providers and clinical staff by coordinating centralized nursing workflows, improving clinical efficiency, and promoting consistent patient care across the organization. This position serves as a clinical resource for providers and office managers by overseeing provider support functions, medication management, patient communications, clinical projects, and workflow improvement initiatives.

    Communication

    Strong oral and written communication skills are required. This role demands tact, diplomacy, and professionalism when interacting with leadership, providers, staff, and external stakeholders. This position must handle confidential and sensitive information with the highest level of discretion while fostering a collaborative and respectful work environment.

    The ability to communicate in Spanish, Creole, or both is a plus.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Manage provider clinical support workflows, including provider portal buckets, clinical inboxes, and patient communications.
    • Coordinate medication refill requests according to established protocols and provider preferences.
    • Provide clinical oversight and support for call center triage workflows, ensuring patients are directed appropriately based on clinical need.
    • Review and route laboratory results, imaging reports, consultation notes, hospital records, and other clinical documents to providers.
    • Develop and maintain standardized nursing workflows, protocols, and clinical support processes.
    • Lead clinical projects and initiatives that improve patient care, provider efficiency, and operational performance.
    • Support Chronic Care Management, Remote Patient Monitoring, Transitional Care Management, and other population health programs.
    • Monitor clinical work queues and identify opportunities to improve turnaround times and workflow efficiency.
    • Assist with EHR optimization, clinical documentation workflows, and implementation of new technology.
    • Develop educational resources and provide training for clinical staff on nursing workflows and best practices.
    • Collaborate with providers, office managers, and operational leadership to improve clinical processes and patient outcomes.
    • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and monitor clinical performance metrics.
    • Serve as a clinical resource for nursing staff and assist with problem-solving related to patient care and workflow.
    • Travel between clinic locations as needed.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Education and Training

    • Current Florida Registered Nurse license in good standing.
    • Associate degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred.

    Experience

    • Three years of nursing experience, preferably in ambulatory or primary care.
    • Experience with electronic health records; Athena experience preferred.
    • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities while working collaboratively with providers and interdisciplinary teams.

    Physical Requirements

    • Level 2 background clearance required 
    • Must have all necessary vaccinations, a PPD Test is done once upon hired.
