Alliance Services, Inc. is seeking a travel nurse RN DOU - Direct Observation Unit for a travel nursing job in Wausau, Wisconsin.

Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg/Observation

Job Details:

• 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• 36 guaranteed hours per week
• 13-week contract
• Every other weekend and every other holiday required
• Float to all inpatient units as needed, including IMC and CTU units
• Low census policy allows for shifts to be reduced in 4-hour increments; contract is eligible for 36 hours of low census unbillable hours
• 8-bed observation unit with a patient ratio of 1:4
• Treat patients with conditions including anemia, cellulitis, COPD, dehydration, pre and post-op urology and GI cases, with average patient stay of up to 48 hours
• Manage drips including Cardizem, Nitro, Insulin, and Heparin
• High volume of admissions and discharges
• Ability to read and interpret EKG strips required; EKG exam required during compliance
• Minimum 3 years of experience required
• 1 prior travel assignment required
• EPIC charting experience required
• Background in observation, med/surg, or telemetry units preferred
• NIHSS certification highly preferred
• Required certifications: WI RN License, BLS, ACLS (AHA or ARC)
• Associate Degree or Certificate required
• Scrub colors: any color
