RNs working evening shifts often encounter challenges such as adjusting to atypical hours, managing higher patient admissions, and ensuring seamless communication with day and night teams. Fatigue and maintaining work-life balance can also be concerns due to the shift timing. To address these, many RNs establish consistent routines, prioritize effective handover communication, and utilize support from colleagues and supervisors. Hospitals may also offer resources like employee wellness programs and shift differentials to help RNs succeed in these roles.
