Registered Nurse – Preop/PACU

Title: Registered Nurse – Preop/PACU

Requirements:
  • Associate's Degree or Diploma in Nursing required.
  • Current, valid RN license in state of practice, temporary RN license in state of practice, or compact RN licensure for current state of practice required.
  • BLS and ACLS certifications required.
  • PALS certification required within 90 days of start date if assigned ASC services pediatrics.
  • Minimum one-year licensed RN experience in PreOp/PACU for core positions (i.e., ICU, ED).
  • Licensed RN with no experience in PreOp/PACU must be enrolled in Perianesthesia Academy with successful completion within 4 months.
  • New licensed RN enrolled in the Perianesthesia Academy with successful completion within 4 months preferred.
  • Minimum two years licensed RN experience in PreOp/PACU for PRN positions preferred.
Roles & Responsibilities:
  • Assess patient's physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural, and post-operative planning needs.
  • Formulate a plan of care based on assessment data and input from the patient, family, and health team.
  • Implement the plan of care through direct patient care and coordination with the health care team.
  • Evaluate the patient's response to care and revise the plan as necessary.
  • Document all aspects of nursing care in the patient record according to policy.
  • Participate in educational activities, precepting, and mentoring of staff and students.

Compliance / Notes: Must perform all functions according to established policies, procedures, regulatory and accreditation requirements, and applicable professional standards. Provide an excellent service experience by consistently demonstrating core and leader behaviors.
