Job description

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY:

Operate and manage the unwind system to ensure continuous, stable web feed maintaining proper roll setup, tension control, and splicing to support safe, efficient production at target speeds.


SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITY:

  • Set up and operate both unwind with cross-training to support the rewind system for operational flexibility.
  • Prepare rolls for production (remove outer wrap, cut cores, stage materials)
  • Maintain proper web tension and roll diameter settings per specifications
  • Set and adjust edge guides to ensure accurate web alignment
  • Manage roll changes and automatic splicing to maintain continuous operation
  • Ensure adequate supply of clean cores and materials for uninterrupted production
  • Support routine maintenance, including cleaning and inspection of gears, bearings, and
  • anilox rolls
  • Operate cleaning equipment (e.g., Micro Clean) and properly store components
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with 5S and food safety standards
  • Utilize downtime effectively to support setup, housekeeping, and team needs
  • Communicate effectively with team members to ensure smooth operations
  • Follow all safety procedures, wear required PPE, and identify/report unsafe conditions
  • May be asked to help with duties in other areas or departments
  • Performs other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:


EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have basic computer skills and possess ability to utilize software. Must have mechanical ability and skills.


LANGUAGE SKILLS: Must have the ability to read and understand documents, letters, etc. and write legibly in English. Must be able to understand and speak clearly, communicate, and understand directions in English as needed.
