Job description

Temporary Lifeguard

The County of Riverside's Human Resources Temporary Assignment Program (TAP) is seeking a Temporary Lifeguard to support Lake Cahuilla Park, in La Quinta. The Lifeguard, under general supervision, will safeguard the general public by performing lifeguard services over an assigned beach or swimming pool facility, and perform other related work as assigned. Responsibilities for this position include safeguarding the general public by performing lifeguard services for an assigned pool area; makes rescues, administers first aid, and performs manual and mechanical resuscitation. Advises about and enforces regulations concerning swimming areas. Makes periodic patrols of swimming areas warning bathers of unsafe swimming conditions; posts appropriate warning flags and informational signs; Enforce pool regulations and water safety policies, and ensure subordinate staff enforces these regulations and policies. Maintains lifeguard station and equipment in neat and orderly condition; as necessary Work schedule: Varies on Pool Operation, Normal days will be Monday-Thursday - Will vary based on events and department needs and parking operating hours.
