We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to report to the Martinsville Site Manager. This role is crucial in ensuring safe, reliable and efficient operations while driving continuous improvements in processes and personnel, in alignment with the site’s vision and culture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prioritize and lead a strong safety culture by implementing and overseeing safety protocols, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and fostering an environment where safety is a core value in all operations
  • Drive initiatives centered on safety, environmental stewardship and productivity to enhance overall operational excellence
  • Cultivate strong relationships and trust with team members across various organizations to meet both short-term and long-term business objectives
  • Effectively prioritize and allocate resources to address multiple demands
  • Provide strategic oversight to two distinct teams managing unique units
  • Establish and communicate clear expectations for all operations staff, ensuring these are consistently met
  • Model and cultivate a work environment that embodies Eastman’s values and competencies, ensuring that all team activities align with the company’s core principles and behaviors
  • Implement processes that empower employees to achieve their full productive potential in support of organizational goals
  • Provide leadership to both technical and non-technical team members through coaching, development and accountability

  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement operational strategies to drive business results
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Engineering or related field required
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment, including at least 5 years in a management role, required
  • Strong knowledge of web handling, automation and warehouse processes preferred
  • High emotional intelligence, building relationships and engaging employees at all organizational levels to drive improvements
  • Proven leadership skills demonstrated through effective coaching, development and accountability of employees
  • Strong decision-making and analytical skills to manage risk and ensure safe, reliable and productive operations
  • A strong commitment to health, safety and environmental stewardship
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Knowledge of SAP is preferred
