Company Description Rise Up Heating and Cooling is a locally focused HVAC service provider committed to delivering reliable heating and air conditioning solutions to residential and light commercial customers. Role Description The Heating Air Conditioning Service Technician role at Rise Up Heating and Cooling is a part-time, on-site position based in Lansing, MI. This technician will diagnose and repair heating and cooling systems, perform routine and preventive maintenance, and conduct system inspections to ensure safe and efficient operation. Daily work includes responding to service calls, troubleshooting equipment issues, recommending appropriate repairs or replacements, and documenting work performed. The technician will interact directly with customers, explain findings in a clear manner, and promote a positive service experience. This role may also involve assisting with installation support, maintaining tools and equipment, and adhering to all safety and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

  • Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to diagnose HVAC system issues accurately and efficiently.
  • Experience with maintenance & repair and preventive maintenance for residential or light commercial heating and cooling equipment.
  • Knowledge of EPA regulations and, ideally, possession of EPA certification for handling refrigerants.
  • Commitment to customer satisfaction, with the ability to communicate clearly, professionally, and respectfully with clients.
  • Basic understanding of electrical and mechanical systems related to HVAC equipment.
  • Ability to work on-site in varying weather conditions, lift moderate weights, and use hand and power tools safely.
  • Attention to detail in completing service records, work orders, and safety checks.
  • Relevant technical training or coursework in HVAC; certification or licensure in HVAC is a plus.
  • Reliable transportation to service locations in the Lansing, MI area and flexibility to work part-time hours.
  • Dedication to safe work practices and adherence to company policies and industry standards.
