Job Title: Mammography Technologist (ARRT-M)
Job Location: Craig, CO
Working Hours: Full-Time | Day Shift
Department: Diagnostic Imaging – Women’s Health
Job Type: Permanent | Direct Hire

Salary Range: $73,008 – $109,491 annually

Position summary

The Mammography Technologist delivers high-quality mammographic imaging services for diagnostic interpretation while ensuring patient safety, comfort, and education throughout the exam. This role supports daily operations of the Women’s Health imaging section, maintains accreditation and regulatory standards, and contributes to continuous quality improvement initiatives.​

Key responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic mammography exams in accordance with departmental protocols and radiologist instructions, ensuring optimal positioning and image quality.​

  • Oversee daily operations of the Women’s Health imaging section, helping coordinate workflow, room readiness, and exam scheduling.​

  • Ensure compliance with FDA MQSA, accreditation, and quality assurance requirements, including adherence to ALARA principles for radiation safety.​

  • Maintain accurate records for inspections, audits, clinical image review, and structured reporting as required by accrediting bodies.​

  • Complete daily QA procedures, perform basic equipment checks, and coordinate preventative maintenance or repairs with service vendors.​

  • Educate patients on mammography procedures, obtain informed consent when appropriate, and provide supportive, trauma-informed communication.​

  • Maintain accurate documentation and imaging records in EHR, PACS, and RIS/HIS systems, following departmental documentation standards.​

Required qualifications & skills

  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program.​

  • ARRT registration in Radiology (R) and Mammography (M).

  • Current BLS certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire).

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Mammography or Radiologic Technologist, preferably in a breast imaging or women’s health setting.​

  • Advanced knowledge of mammography imaging procedures, breast anatomy, and radiation safety, including ALARA practices.​

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing a steady caseload.

  • Strong communication, organization, and patient-care skills, with sensitivity to patients’ physical and emotional needs.​

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience in CT, MRI, or DEXA imaging and cross-training across multiple imaging modalities.​

  • Experience working with PACS, RIS, and electronic medical record systems in an outpatient or hospital setting.​

Core competencies

  • Mammography imaging expertise and technical accuracy for screening and diagnostic exams.​
