Job Description:

A-Core is looking for an experienced full-time Lead Small Engine and Equipment Mechanic to join our team in our fast-paced Mesa, Arizona Shop working on a variety of small engines and equipment which includes concrete cutting flat, ride-it, ring, and hand saws, and coring drills. Daily activities range from preventative maintenance (PM's) to technical repairs. You will be responsible for accurate record keeping, paperwork, ordering parts, research solutions, and updating systems for maintenance reminders.

Responsibilities:

  • Address day-to-day breakdowns as well as scheduled preventative maintenance for all small engines and equipment
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot, repair and maintain various mechanical, hydraulic, & electrical equipment, power units, generators, small equipment and electrical repairs, and including all vehicle issues
  • Travel and respond to field needs as needed (some nights and weekends)
  • Maintain a clean work area for safety and efficiency
  • Timely complete work orders with accuracy and detail
  • Research and order parts and maintain inventory to complete work timely
  • Other tasks as assigned

Qualifications:

  • 5 years of small engine and equipment trouble shooting and repair experience
  • Expertise in small engine mechanics, electrical systems, and fuel systems is essential.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills are needed to diagnose complex engine issues.
  • Must have own tools to use in the shop
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen, have a valid driver's license, & a good driving record
  • Ability to maintain data entry and schedules on a PC/tablet
  • Ability to follow processes, be self-motivated, and punctual
  • Ability to gain and maintain special clearance to sensitive work sites (military bases & airports)
  • Ability to lift 75 lbs. or more on occasion
  • Additional certifications or specialized training in small engine repair is a plus
  • Commercial driver's license preferred
  • Bilingual Spanish abilities a plus
