Manager, Commodity & Energy Trading – US Oil & Petrochemicals Markets

Location: Houston, TX, United States

You will lead high‑impact engagements with clients across the U.S. oil, petrochemical, and natural gas liquids markets, driving strategy, capability, risk, regulatory, and technology initiatives.

What you will be doing
  • Strategy & Commercial Advisory – US market entry and establishment, commercial trading & hedging strategy, commercial collaboration models, book structure & transfer pricing
  • Business Capability Development – trading capability assessment & benchmarking, trading capability design, operating & organization design, business process design, business change program planning, business & IT readiness & training, operational excellence
  • Risk & Regulatory Advisory – risk strategy definition, risk management policy design, risk capability assessment & design (market, credit, operational, climate, etc.), regulatory & compliance capability assessment & design (KYC, AML, trade surveillance, etc.)
  • Technology Advisory & Transformation – technology strategy & architecture design, IT operating model design, technology capability building, technology program QA & health checks, vendor selection & implementation
Your skills and experience
  • 6+ years experience in a consulting or industry role with explicit experience in Commodity & Energy Trading initiatives
  • Experience in crude oil, refined products, natural gas liquids (NGLs), petrochemicals, and freight trading markets
  • Comprehensive understanding of the energy and petrochemicals value chains
  • Capability assessments and target operating model development for trading organisations
  • Experience leading business and IT transformation programs, including change management
  • Advisory support for market entry and trading readiness initiatives
  • Knowledge of risk management frameworks and regulatory compliance
  • Experience with strategy, design and implementation of advanced analytics platforms for trading organisations
  • Client‑side advisory for modernising trading systems with platforms such as OpenLink, RightAngle, and comparable solutions
