NOW HIRING: MATERIAL HANDLER (RIGGING & OVERHEAD CRANE OPERATIONS)

Location: 531 Old Swede Road, Douglassville, PA 19518
Schedule: Full-time hours | Monday-Friday | 7:00AM-3:30PM
Compensation: Competitive hourly rate based on experience, technical capability, education, and market dataโ€”compensation level will align with demonstrated knowledge, applicable experience, and ability to contribute independently

Build What Matters. Be Part of Something That Lasts.

At American Crane & Equipment Corporation (ACECO), we design, build, and service custom engineered lifting solutions used in critical industries where precision, safety, and reliability matterโ€”and we invest in the people who make that possible. We're looking for a Material Handler to support our manufacturing operations by safely moving raw materials, fabricated components, assemblies, and finished products throughout our facility. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys operating equipment, working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, and playing a critical role in keeping production moving efficiently.

What This Role Really Is

This is not a warehouse picker or shipping clerk position. This is a hands-on manufacturing support role responsible for moving large materials and components throughout a heavy industrial environment using forklifts, overhead cranes, rigging equipment, and material handling tools. You will work closely with fabrication, machining, welding, assembly, quality, and shipping teams to ensure materials are delivered safely, accurately, and on time. The work is physical, fast-paced, and critical to the success of our manufacturing operations.

Who Thrives Here (and Who Doesn't)

You'll do well here if you:

  • Take safety seriously
  • Enjoy operating equipment and moving materials
  • Stay organized and pay attention to detail
  • Communicate well with teammates
  • Take ownership of your work
  • Can adapt to changing production priorities

This role is likely not a fit if you:

  • Prefer sedentary or office-based work
  • Struggle working around heavy equipment and industrial operations
  • Dislike working in a fast-paced environment
  • Need constant supervision to remain productive
  • Are uncomfortable following established safety procedures

What Success Looks Like (First 90 Days)

First 30 Days

  • Learn ACECO safety procedures, material flow processes, and shop layout
  • Become familiar with production departments and staging locations
  • Learn proper material identification, handling, and tracking practices
  • Demonstrate safe work habits and dependable attendance

Days 31โ€“60

  • Independently support material movement activities throughout the facility
  • Assist production teams with staging and delivery requirements
  • Develop proficiency operating material handling equipment
  • Contribute to safe and efficient workflow across departments

Days 61โ€“90

  • Consistently support production schedules through timely material delivery
  • Demonstrate strong situational awareness and safe lifting practices
  • Maintain material accuracy and organization
  • Become a trusted resource supporting manufacturing operations
