This is not a traditional consulting or design-only role. You will work directly with Operations, Project Management, Safety, and Executive Leadership to develop engineered solutions that are successfully executed in the field. As our Engineering & Technical Services function continues to grow, you will have the opportunity to influence engineering standards, mentor future talent, and help shape the future of the department.

What You Will Do

  • Develop engineered lift plans, structural calculations, and technical engineering solutions.
  • Perform structural analysis for temporary works, lifting systems, crane support systems, and complex loading conditions.
  • Evaluate crane configurations, ground bearing pressures, construction sequencing, and means and methods.
  • Conduct project site visits to assess constructability, access, and engineering risks.
  • Support critical lifts, structural steel erection, machinery installations, and specialty construction activities.
  • Serve as Engineer of Record for engineered lifting and structural support activities when required.
  • Partner with Operations, Project Management, Estimating, and Safety to develop practical engineering solutions.
  • Establish engineering standards, calculation procedures, and technical best practices.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the continued growth of the Engineering & Technical Services function.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Structural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Active Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Georgia PE license or ability to obtain through reciprocity.
  • Experience supporting structural, industrial, construction, manufacturing, infrastructure, or engineering consulting projects.
  • Strong structural analysis, engineering judgment, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience reviewing construction documents and collaborating with field operations.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, RAM, RISA, TEDDS, Bluebeam, or similar engineering software.
  • Ability to work in both office and active construction environments.
  • Ability to travel periodically throughout the Southeast.

Experience in crane and rigging engineering is preferred but not required. We welcome experienced structural engineers looking to apply their expertise in a unique construction environment.

Why Join Superior Rigging & Erecting?

  • Help build a growing Engineering & Technical Services function.
  • Work directly with executive leadership and operational decision-makers.
  • Solve technically challenging projects that require practical engineering judgment.
  • See your engineering solutions implemented in the field.
  • Work on complex projects involving heavy lift, structural steel, industrial facilities, and specialty construction.
  • Competitive compensation based on experience, technical expertise, and professional licensure.
  • Comprehensive benefits including Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k), Paid Time Off, and Paid Holidays.
