Job description

Job Title: Rigger

(may include mechanical duties)


Quality Auto & Equipment, Inc. (QAE) is a multi-state business engaged in equipment storage and logistics management, with an open position for a Rigger to support the safe handling, movement, loading, unloading, and securement of equipment. 


Duties:

  • Perform heavy lifting as required to load and unload materials. Working under 100T crane as rigger.
  • Perform daily rigging inspections and follow crane operator's requests.
  • Assist with shipping and receiving tasks, including checking for damaged goods and verifying quantities.
  • Utilize order picking systems to accurately fulfill orders.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and perform cycle counts as needed.
  • Conduct routine inspections of the forklift and report any maintenance or safety issues.
  • Follow all safety guidelines and procedures, including OSHA regulations.
  • Miscellaneous labor around the crane yard.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations in the warehouse.
  • Operate a lift truck to move, stack, load, or unload materials in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Perform basic / routine maintenance on equipment and vehicles 
  • Inspect customer-owned equipment such as large generators and HVAC mechanical equipment for damage before loading / unloading 
  • Interface with truck drivers, assist with backing operations, load securement, etc. 
  • Perform basic yard maintenance including debris pick-up, vegetation control or basic yard organization tasks. 


Experience:

  • Rigging experience is required.
  • Rigging certification is highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of mechanical principles and basic math skills.
  • Familiarity with different types of heavy machinery.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong mechanic background preferred to assist with fleet repairs.
  • CDL preferred
  • Knowledge of hydraulic systems.
  • Knowledge of diesel mechanics.
  • Knowledge of electrical systems.
  • Knowledge of fleet services and vehicle / equipment maintenance practices.
