Job description

This is a job shop welding and fabrication position — NOT a production welding role. We fabricate custom, one-off and short-run sheet metal and structural components. If you are looking for repetitive, fixture-based, production welding, this is not that job.

We are looking for an experienced Welder/Fabricator who can read prints, fit parts, and work through a job from start to finish with minimal supervision.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • MIG welding (GMAW) carbon steel, aluminum, and stainless steel
  • TIG welding (GTAW) as needed (TIG welding is a plus)
  • Fit, tack, weld, and finish custom, non-repetitive assemblies
  • Fabricate sheet metal and structural components from prints
  • Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and job travelers
  • Measure, layout, and verify parts throughout the job
  • Grind and clean welds as required by job specifications
  • Use standard shop tools (grinders, saws, drills, etc.)
  • Maintain weld quality, appearance, and structural integrity
  • Follow shop safety, quality, and scheduling requirements
  • Keep your work area clean and organized

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience in a job shop welding/fabrication environment
  • Not a production-only welder
  • Strong MIG welding experience
  • Experience welding carbon steel, aluminum, and stainless steel
  • Ability to read prints and weld symbols without assistance
  • Strong fit-up, layout, and problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable working on changing jobs and priorities
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs. and be on your feet for extended periods

Preferred (Nice to Have)

  • TIG welding experience
  • Welding certifications (AWS or similar)
  • Experience working from incomplete or evolving prints
  • Experience grinding welds for appearance or coating

Skill Verification

Your welding and fabrication skills will be tested during the interview process.

Applicants must bring their required personal welding equipment to complete a hands-on weld/fabrication test.

You should be proficient in:

  • GD&T
  • Tape Measure Reading
  • Welding Setups for Production
  • Blueprint Reading

Machines & technologies you'll use:

  • MIG Welder
  • TIG Welder
  • 2D Drawings
