Job Summary

As a truck driver, you are a critical link in keeping projects running on schedule. You'll be responsible for safely hauling and delivering materials like aggregate, asphalt, millings, and dirt to and from construction sites. Your work ensures crews have what they need, when they need it, while protecting company equipment.


Essential Job Functions

  • Perform daily pre-trip inspections and report equipment or mechanical issues promptly
  • Follow DOT regulations, NYS hauling rules, and jobsite safety requirements.
  • Adjust schedules as weather, job progress, or breakdowns change priorities.
  • Work flexible hours, including early mornings, overtime, or seasonal schedules as projects require.
  • Represent the company professionally when interacting with crews, inspectors, and the public.
  • Safely operate a dump truck to transport materials like aggregate, asphalt and dirt between job sites and yards.
  • Haul and dump materials safely on heavy highways and construction sites.Prior dump truck or construction site experience is a plus.
  • Assist with basic site tasks, including material spreading or cleanup when needed.
  • Load, haul, and dump materials while ensuring proper weight distribution and load security.
  • Paving experience a plus
  • Communicate clearly with dispatch, supervisors, and field crews to keep work flowing.
  • This position includes a combination of local driving and out-of-town work. Must be willing to travel and stay overnight when required.
  • Maintain logs and required documentation


Requirements:

  • A valid Class A CDL is mandatory.
  • 3-5 years of verifiable experience. Entry-level roles are rare and usually require at least 1 year of experience.
  • You must pass a DOT physical and maintain a current Medical Examiners Certificate. You must also pass a DOT drug screen.
  • OSHA 10 Certification
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of the team
  • Dependable and safety minded
  • Clean driving record
