Job description

JOB TITLE: Ride Mechanic
REPORTS TO: Maintenance Supervisor
DEPARTMENT: Maintenance
PAY RATE: $22.25/hr - $27.00/hr
JOB SUMMARY: Maintain and repair rides and attractions at the park and make sure that they are operating safely.

ANTICIPATED FILL DATE: June 22, 2026
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Maintain, erect, repair and trouble-shoot rides and attractions (in accordance with proven ability as evaluated by Ride Maintenance Manager and/or Supervisor) to ensure their safe and efficient operation.
  • Must be able to troubleshoot clearly, calmly, and safely in the presence of guests and co-workers.
  • Ensure the rides are clean and visually in compliance with manufacturer's specifications, guests, and Elitch Gardens expectations.
  • Ensure manufacturer specifications and state regulations are complied with and documented.
  • Inspect rides and attractions and notify management of any hazards that may endanger the guests or staff members.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and professional work environment at all times.
  • Operate within the policies and procedures of Elitch Gardens.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Solid working knowledge and experience in basic carpentry, mechanics, gear reduction, pneumatics, hydraulics, and electricity.
  • Must be able to read, understand, and implement maintenance and inspection procedures.
  • In this position you must possess oral and written English skills and must be able to communicate with guests and other employees effectively.
  • Must possess a valid Driver's License.
  • Required to work in various weather conditions.
  • Available to work overtime.
  • Available to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays.
  • Attention to detail.

  • Occasionally required to sit, climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear; and taste or smell.
  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds with the assistance of a co-worker.
  • Ability to work at heights up to 200' above grade.
  • Ability to distinguish color.
  • Possess 20/20 corrected vision. (Corrective lens, if required, must be worn while on duty).
  • Specific vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Possess normal or average corrected hearing. (Defined as 25 decibels or better in the frequency range of 500HZ-4000HZ considered normal speech frequency range). (If a corrective device is needed to achieve this range, it must be worn while on duty)
