Sourcing Specialist Position location is flexible and may office from any branch in the USA Full-time Shift(s): MON TUE WED THU FRI 7:00am - 5:00pm OVERVIEW: Working as Full-time Sourcing Specialist, you will research and complete Requests for Quotes (RFQ's). Completing these RFQ's requires you to analyze customer and competitor data, interpret specific part schematics and specs. This position may offer a flexible schedule after a period of onboarding, training, and meeting performance goals. RESPONSIBILITIES: The duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: o Sourcing and organizing Requests for Quotes (RFQ's) from Fastenal Company's largest current and potential customers o Analyzing part specifications o Cross referencing parts based on customer provided data and specifications o Identifying sources of supply for non-standard items o Offering accurate alternate or substitute items when feasible o Collaborating with internal stakeholders such as: Sales, Supplier Development, Lean Solutions, Data Content, Product Compliance, and Industry Specialists o Navigating and utilizing multiple computer programs throughout the day o Leveraging supplier relationships for competitive costing, consolidation, or savings initiatives o Focusing on and driving individual, and team led key performance indicators REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: The following skills and qualifications are required for this position: o 18 years of age or older o Possess or are working towards a degree in Business or a related field of study OR have customer service work experience o Excellent written and oral communication skills o Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite o Excellent research and analytical skills o Highly motivated, self-directed and customer service oriented o Demonstrate strong organization, planning and prioritizing abilities o Exhibit strong problem solving, deductive reasoning and decision-making skills o Work independently as well as in a team environment o Learn and perform multiple tasks in a fast paced environment o Demonstrate our core values of ambition, innovation, integrity and teamwork o Pass the required drug screen (applicable in the US, Puerto Rico and Guam ONLY) PREFERRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: o Prior experience working in the industrial sales industry focused on sourcing or procurement ABOUT US: Since 1967 Fastenal has grown as a distributor of industrial and construction supplies from a single branch to a Fortune 500 company with over 3,000 servicing locations, each providing tailored local inventory and personal service for our customers.
