Job description

In this role, you'll work with a highly enthusiastic team, contributing in a world-class manufacturing industry in Puerto Rico & USA.
Responsibilities:
  • The Strategic Sourcing Manager is responsible for the executing of overall sourcing and supplier management processes for initiatives in the following areas: Capital, Site Engineering and Operations project and initiatives business functions.
  • Also manages the overall procurement processes of a group of goods and services, to meet the needs of internal customers.
  • Serve as the primary expert for the Sourcing organization in the categories managed
  • Work with Business Areas and Stakeholders to identify new areas of process improvement
  • Identify opportunities to reduce costs that impact Cost of Goods Manufactured
  • Modify or implement methods that lead to Process improvements to our operations
  • Apply Lean and Operational Excellence Principles
  • Establish and lead cross-functional sourcing team in selection of suppliers and negotiations
  • Create and manage RFPx using electronic systems, i.e. ARIBA, SAP
  • Experience in negotiating new or revised Master Agreements with key Suppliers
  • Analyze Suppliers data to assess Supplier's financial stability risk
  • Interact with Corporate Risk Management to assess Insurance policy coverage
  • Interact with Legal to find resolution in Terms and Conditions with Suppliers
  • Establish metrics and KPIs to monitor supplier performance stability and monitor potential risks
  • Execute orders once implementation criteria have been achieved
  • Drive and make sure Compliance sourcing procedures are followed by documenting all sourcing decisions, Prepare and Execute Sourcing Processes
  • Request for Information (RFIs), Requests for Proposals (RFP's), Request for Quotes (RFQ's) and any other mean of procurement channel (Purchase Order, Contract or Agreement) in compliance with procedures

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, capital procurement, operations/manufacturing, or project management, including hands-on delivery of capital projects.
  • Proven sourcing experience across capital construction categories, including architectural and engineering services, construction management, manufacturing equipment, automation integration, commissioning, quality/validation, general contractors, and construction trades.
  • Strong end-to-end expertise in tendering, supplier negotiations, contracting, and e-sourcing processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex, cross-functional, and geographically dispersed project teams.
  • Ability to independently plan, prioritize, and deliver practical solutions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience developing sourcing strategies and plans, conducting eRFX and bid analyses, leading supplier selection, and negotiating commercial terms, including incentives, penalties, and change-order management.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, presentation, communication, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to effectively partner with project teams and key stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction while maintaining quality, procurement policy compliance, and timely execution.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Fluent written and spoken business English and Spanish.
