Who We Are

ThinkTek LLC is a fast-growing Certified SBA 8(a) and Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) specializing in management and technology consulting for Federal Government modernization. We provide tailored solutions in Program & Project Management, Strategic Planning, and IT Operations.

Position Description

ThinkTek is seeking a Wireless Network Engineer to support a Department of War client in the National Capital Region. This role supports a large enterprise wireless environment built on HPE Aruba Networking infrastructure, centered on a facility-wide access point life cycle replacement. The position suits an engineer early in their career who has foundational wireless and networking skills and wants to build depth quickly, working alongside senior engineers and taking on progressively broader responsibility.

Responsibilities
  • Support engineering and sustainment of Aruba wireless infrastructure, including mobility controllers and conductors, access points, and AirWave
  • Support access point life cycle replacement, including staging configuration, integration, cutover, and validation
  • Coordinate with installation crews replacing access points and cabling, and verify results
  • Support change management and authorized service interruption planning with Government operations staff
  • Support troubleshooting and escalation of wireless faults under the direction of senior engineers, using client session analysis, controller diagnostics, and targeted site surveys
  • Support ClearPass configuration and 802.1X authentication activities
  • Support cybersecurity compliance, including STIG application, vulnerability remediation, and configuration hardening
  • Produce configuration standards, network diagrams, integration and test plans, and as-built records
Required Qualifications
  • Active Secret security clearance
  • Approximately 3 to 5 years of network engineering experience, including hands-on work with enterprise wireless infrastructure
  • Exposure to enterprise wireless platforms such as Aruba, Cisco, or comparable, covering access points, controllers, and management systems
  • Working knowledge of routing and switching fundamentals, including VLANs, trunking, spanning tree, and subnetting
  • Foundational understanding of network integration, including secure transport and how systems connect across enclaves
  • Solid troubleshooting fundamentals across the wireless and wired stack
  • Ability to produce clear technical documentation
Desired Qualifications
  • Current SCI access eligibility or active TS/SCI
  • Prior support to DISA, Joint Service Provider, or other DoD enterprise networks
  • Hands-on ArubaOS experience, including mobility controllers, ClearPass, or AirWave
  • Experience with site surveys or RF analysis, including tools such as Ekahau
  • CWNA, or vendor certification such as Aruba ACMA or Cisco CCNA
  • DoD 8140 IAT Level II or higher, such as Security+ CE
  • Familiarity with RMF, ATO processes, or DISA STIG compliance
  • Familiarity with the NSA Commercial Solutions for Classified (CSfC) program
  • Experience working in secure or classified facilities

The anticipated annual salary range for this position is $100,030 โ€“ $115,020. This range is a good-faith estimate and not a guarantee of compensation. Final compensation will be based on factors including experience, education, skills, geographic location, internal equity, market data, and applicable contract requirements, and may fall outside the posted range.
