TheFront-End Engineering Managerwill oversee the Read-in, BOM, CAM, Programming and Methods Engineering (planning) functions and interface with IT programming support,production managers, process engineers, sales representations and customers to ensure efficiency and quality of job orders.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Review and analyze customer design data and artwork to specify and manipulate circuit board designs paying close attention to specifications, tolerances, panel layout and process capabilities

  • Recommend and implement solutions for customer designs that consider customer needs, production requirements and financial impact

  • Meet and present alternative capabilities to customers regarding any technical difficulties

  • Create and maintain manufacturing documentation to include work instructions and procedures

  • Audit processes, procedures and tools for CAM, Planning and Programming

  • Provide sales organization and field engineers with technical support in reviewing customer requirements and manufacturability

  • Maintain capabilities matrix to assist the Front-End departments in planning/tooling job orders

  • Collect, review and analyze Front End metrics information for reporting to site GM.

  • Assist departmental leads to prioritize workflow while keeping in mind the ever changing demand and deviations of client needs

  • Perform administrative duties such as conducting performance appraisals, completing disciplinary forms, approval of timesheets and documentation of attendance and tardiness

  • Oversee and proactively address operations and employee relations issues

  • Responsible for maintaining acceptable shift morale and a culture of teamwork

  • Identify, conduct and participate in production and safety training

  • Work with department managers to implement company polices and goals

  • Interface with the IT department for Script updates.

Essential Knowledge and Skills:

  • Proficient understanding of IPC standards, CI modeling, CI calculation and generation of tooling (via plug, selective, etc.) in preparing computers files for planning and tooling

  • Ability to read and understand drawings, stack ups and CAM DRCs

  • Ability to effectively communicate with customers to resolve problems

  • Excellent organizational, communication, interpersonal and leadership skills

  • Ability to read, write and communicate in English to the degree necessary to perform the job

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred

  • 5-7 years' experience in the Front-End department within the printed circuit board industry is preferred.
