Title: Electrical Assembly Technician
Pay Rate: $30.80 - $34.10/hour (DOE)
Employment Type: Contract
Schedule: Full-time, Swing Shift (3pm-12am) - 9/80 schedule (off every other Friday)
Location: Gilbert, AZ 85233 (100% Onsite)
Tekberry is seeking experienced Electrical Assembly Technicians to support our client, a worldwide designer, manufacturer, and integrator of precision control components, within their Space & Defense Group in Gilbert, AZ. This role is ideal for candidates with strong high-reliability soldering and electrical assembly experience supporting regulated programs.
As a W2 employee, you will have access to health benefits.
Responsibilities
  • Perform high-reliability soldering in accordance with IPC-J-STD standards on printed circuit boards, printed wiring boards, and circuit card assemblies (through-hole and surface mount).
  • Assemble chassis and final units using circuit cards, wire harnesses, crimping tools, soldering tools, and precision instruments.
  • Perform complex sub-assembly work including board-level repairs, jumper wire installations, and rework.
  • Work with multi-pin connectors and assemblies to meet strict government and customer specifications.
  • Interpret assembly drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), and electronic work instructions.
  • Follow ESD protocols and maintain cleanliness and traceability for controlled programs.
  • Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to troubleshoot issues and support process improvements.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with quality requirements.
Must-Have Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of hands-on electrical assembly experience, including soldering and crimping.
  • Experience with IPC-J-STD, IPC-610, and IPC-620 standards.
  • Strong board-level soldering and repair skills.
  • Ability to read and follow detailed assembly drawings and work instructions.
  • Comfortable working in a highly regulated manufacturing environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • NASA 8739 soldering certification.
  • Experience supporting avionics, aerospace, spaceflight, or defense programs.
  • Experience with circuit card rework, coating, and installation.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with engineering teams.
