Emerald Technologies has an exciting opportunity for Rework Technician to join its Brea, CA team! The Rework Technician is responsible for performing detailed assembly and repair work on Printed Circuit Board Assemblies (PCBAs) and related subassemblies. This role includes soldering a variety of electronic components using both surface‑mount and thru‑hole techniques, as well as diagnosing and reworking defects to ensure products meet quality and reliability standards.

Responsibilities of the Rework Technician:

  • Perform precision hand‑soldering of SMT and thru‑hole components under a microscope.
  • Follow detailed work instructions and accurately interpret mechanical drawings and PCBA documentation in English.
  • Support rework, component replacement, and advanced troubleshooting on PCBAs.
  • Maintain accurate production logs, repair records, and documentation as required.
  • Conduct visual inspections of PCBAs to identify defects such as solder bridges, cold joints, misalignment, and other workmanship issues.

Qualifications of the Rework Technician:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in assembly and soldering of thru‑hole and SMT components.
  • Proficiency in hand soldering, including hot‑air soldering, BGA rework, and BGA re‑balling.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to high‑quality workmanship.
  • Experience with PCB pad repair, component replacement, and modification.
  • Ability to perform rework, troubleshooting, and repair on PCBAs.

Second Shift (1 Shift Total)
Shift Hours: Monday–Friday, 2:30 PM – 11:00 PM
Paid Hours Per Day: 8 hours (includes one 30‑minute unpaid meal break).
Overtime: May be required based on production needs and will be compensated in accordance with California labor law.
Breaks
Meal Break (Second Shift): One 30‑minute unpaid meal break, typically scheduled between 6:30 PM – 7:00 PM.
Rest Breaks: Two paid 10‑minute rest breaks per shift, in compliance with California labor law.
Budgeted Hours
Budgeted Weekly Hours: 40 hours (5 shifts × 8 hours).
Overtime: May be required based on production needs and will be compensated in accordance with California labor law.
