General Purpose of the Position:
The Senior VDC/BIM Specialist is essential in ensuring that digital construction models are precise, well-coordinated, and meet project requirements throughout all phases, from preconstruction to construction. Reporting directly to the Roseville BIM Manager, this role is a key part of the VDC Department. If you are an architect, designer, MEP engineer, trade partner, or have extensive experience and a passion for innovation and technology in VDC/BIM, this position offers a unique opportunity for professional growth. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • BIM Model Development & Coordination
    • Develop detailed Revit models from conceptual design through construction-level detailing.
    • Coordinate BIM models with Architects, Engineers, and Trade Contractors.
    • Manage the development and distribution of design models through platforms like BIM 360, ACC, and Revizto.
    • Perform clash detection and constructability reviews, proactively resolving issues to streamline project workflows.
    • Support self-performed work by modeling concrete, architectural, and MEP components, including site utilities.
    • Facilitate BIM coordination meetings and huddles, documenting minutes, agendas, and action plans.
  • BIM Model Reviews
    • Conduct comprehensive reviews of design models for completeness, compliance with standards, and constructability.
    • Provide feedback and document findings in tools such as Revizto, ACC, Procore and other project management platforms.
  • BIM Model Deliverables
    • Develop and refine 3D models for quantity surveying, construction sequencing, and scheduling (4D simulation).
    • Generate and distribute field construction documents, such as composite drawings and equipment pad layouts, to improve field efficiency.
    • Coordinate post-construction activities, collecting and delivering federated models, native files, and other BIM deliverables per contract requirements.
    • Perform model clean-up and detailing to reflect as-built conditions for handover.
  • Administration and Documentation Management
    • Administer and maintain access to tools like BIM 360 and Revizto, ensuring document and model version control.
    • Review design changes, BIM revision logs, and sign-off models to ensure accurate and timely updates.
    • Perform storage management, reviewing uploads for proper naming conventions and frequency.
    • Develop and distribute model analytics.
  • Reality Capture
    • Support and optimize coordination efforts by integrating laser scanning data, drone footage, and 360° site captures into models.
    • Process and distribute laser scans, ensuring alignment with project models for gap analysis and constructability checks.
  • BIM AI Implementation
    • Evaluate and implement solutions to improve overall model health
    • Streamline model production
  • Training
    • Assist in training internal team members on BIM/VDC tools and workflows, promoting best practices and innovation.
    • Act as a technical resource for the project team, providing insights and recommendations to improve efficiency and collaboration.

Required Job Skills:
  • Strong expertise in Revit, Navisworks, and other BIM/VDC platforms like Revizto,and BIM 360.
  • Proven ability to lead coordination efforts, resolve constructability issues, and support self-performed construction workflows.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for engaging with clients, designers, and trade partners.
  • Proficiency in processing and analyzing laser scans, drone footage, and 3D data for project insights.
  • Demonstrated ability to innovate and contribute to advancing VDC/BIM best practices.
