Job description

BIM/VDC Lead

Mullins Mechanical is a leader in industrial and large commercial mechanical, plumbing, HVAC construction projects. Our projects are often in the industrial and manufacturing environments, such as Data Centers, manufacturing facilities, automotive plants, chemical plants, distribution centers, warehouses, and other large commercial facilities. We are a self-performing specialty contractor specializing in design-build applications, HVAC systems, plumbing, process piping systems, boiler and chiller systems, equipment installation and rigging, plant relocation and maintenance, and metal fabrication.

Responsibilities:

Develop, implement, and manage BIM execution plans and standards.

Oversee the creation, development, and maintenance of Revit models throughout project lifecycles.

Ensure BIM deliverables meet project requirements and industry standards.

Develop, implement, and manage project schedule and team productivity.

Lead and mentor a team of BIM coordinators, modelers, and other related staff.

Conduct training sessions and workshops to enhance team skills in Revit and BIM processes.

Assign tasks and monitor progress to ensure timely and quality project delivery.

Collaborate with Mullins Mechanical project teams, architects, engineers, general contractors, and other stakeholders to integrate BIM into project workflows.

Coordinate with external consultants and contractors to align BIM efforts.

Facilitate clash detection and resolution using Revit and other BIM tools.

Attend Daily or weekly client and internal meetings.

Conduct regular model reviews and audits to ensure accuracy and adherence to standards.

Implement quality control procedures and address any issues that arise.

Prepare and present BIM progress reports and documentation to project stakeholders.

Maintain thorough records of BIM activities and project data.

Occasional jobsite visits may be required.

Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.

7+ years of professional experience in BIM management and Revit modeling.

Advanced skills in the use of Navisworks software for clash detection and 4D simulation purposes.

Advanced skills in the use of BIM 360 (BIM Collaboration).

Proficiency in the use of Revit and AutoCAD to validate information and navigate models.

Experience with additional BIM software like Revit, CAD, Dynamo, BIM 360, or similar preferred.

Strong understanding of BIM standards, protocols, and industry best practices.

Experience in drafting and modeling mechanical systems such as Piping, HVAC, Fire protection and Skids preferred.

Ability to make decisions, control the progress of the coordination process, and use available hours efficiently.

The ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, hardworking and can effectively manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to communicate effectively with personnel at all organizational levels.
