Job Title: VDC Manager

JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for managing the Engineering / BIM team on creating HVAC shop, fabrication, permits and BIM drawings from engineering documents. Coordinate drawings with other trades and work closely with Project Managers, field personnel and vendors. The position requires good problem solving and communications skills and a strong understanding of Florida construction and building codes.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Primary duty includes the exercise of discretion and independent judgment with respect to matters of significance.
  • Operate CAD equipment to create work drawings on large commercial projects.
  • Ability to read contract drawings and equipment submittals.
  • Set up and maintain drawing packages for all new-project BIM Execution Plans.
  • Prepares shop/detail drawings and as built drawings.
  • Use the latest version of REVIT to prepare all shop drawings.
  • Able to perform material take offs from shop drawings as required.
  • Generate concise information to be supplied with Request for Information (RFI's) or field questions when discrepancies arise.
  • Verifying all RFI, ASI or PR changes are incorporated in all shop drawings.
  • Able to prepare prefabrication spool drawings.
  • Ensures and maintains quality for finished drawings.
  • Prepares drawing required for government/ county permits and utility companies.
  • Develop detailed pipe layout and isometric drawings.
  • Develop and maintain HVAC and Plumbing piping part families.
  • Coordinate the plumbing with other trades i.e. structural, piping, duct, electrical & interior design
  • Considerable knowledge of both HVAC and Plumbing systems and equipment in term of function and local codes
  • Conducts site verification as required.
  • Maintains and updates electronic and manual records of the company.
  • Always secure all company documents.
  • Maintains shop drawing log for all projects.
  • Recommend changes for improvement in the system, methods and procedures.
  • Abides with the company rules regulations.
  • Performs other related duties as may be assigned by the VDC Director.
  • Able to make coordination changes to drawings with knowledge of local codes and installation.
  • Deep knowledge of Revit MEP.
