Job description

Position Overview

Compensation: $75k - $85K salary | performance-based bonus that will take total compensation to between $100k - $120k

At Myles Wrecker Service, with our trusted partner True North Fleet Services, we are looking for an experienced General Manager – Towing & Recovery to lead our towing, recovery, roadside, and transportation operations.

This is a hands-on leadership role with responsibility for operational performance, P&L results, team development, customer relationships, safety, and growth. The General Manager will lead drivers, dispatchers, supervisors, and support teams while building the accountability and operating discipline needed to scale the business.

We’re looking for a leader who operates with an owner’s mindset—someone equally comfortable reviewing financial performance, developing leaders, being visible in field operations, strengthening customer relationships, and stepping in when the operation needs leadership.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own overall operational and financial performance, including revenue, profitability, budgets, labor, and key performance metrics.
  • Lead safe, efficient, and professional 24/7 towing, recovery, roadside, and transportation operations.
  • Drive revenue growth through existing customers, new accounts, towing rotations, commercial fleets, municipalities, and strategic partnerships.
  • Improve response times, truck utilization, driver productivity, fleet uptime, service quality, and overall operating efficiency.
  • Recruit, develop, and retain drivers, dispatchers, supervisors, and future operational leaders.
  • Establish clear expectations and create accountability for performance, safety, customer service, and followthrough.
  • Maintain strong visibility within field operations and provide leadership during major recoveries, customer escalations, and highdemand events.
  • Oversee fleet and equipment readiness, preventative maintenance, utilization, downtime, and capital needs.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable DOT, towing, safety, motorcarrier, licensing, and operational requirements.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with commercial customers, fleets, law enforcement, municipalities, insurance partners, and referral sources.
  • Partner with accounting and operational teams to ensure accurate billing, documentation, job costing, and capture of billable services.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, expand services, strengthen margins, and support continued geographic growth.
  • Qualifications
  • 5+ years of progressive leadership experience in towing, recovery, transportation, fleet operations, heavy trucking, roadside service, or a related field.
  • Experience leading a business unit, branch, region, or operating P&L.
  • Strong understanding of field operations, dispatch, driver management, fleet utilization, and 24/7 service environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to improve operational performance while growing revenue and profitability.
  • Experience recruiting, developing, and retaining frontline employees and operational leaders.
  • Strong financial acumen with the ability to understand budgets, forecasts, P&Ls, job costing, and operating KPIs.
  • Working knowledge of DOT, safety, fleet, and operational compliance requirements.
  • Strong leadership, communication, decisionmaking, and problemsolving skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
  • CDL and towing/recovery certifications are preferred.
  • What We Offer
  • Competitive executivelevel compensation.
  • Performancebased bonus opportunity.
  • Company vehicle or vehicle allowance and fuel card.
  • Health, retirement, and paidtimeoff benefits.
  • Direct access to senior leadership with meaningful operational autonomy.
  • Opportunity to lead and grow an established towing and recovery operation.
  • Longterm career growth within the expanding True North Fleet Services platform.
  • Why This Role Works

This is an opportunity for a proven operator who wants more than simply to maintain the status quo.

You’ll have the ability to build the team, improve the operation, develop new leaders, strengthen customer relationships, and directly influence the growth and profitability of the business.

Myles Wrecker Service has an established reputation and operating foundation. With the continued growth of True North Fleet Services, this leader will have the opportunity to help take the business to its next stage while remaining close to the people, customers, and field operations that drive results.

    Benefits

Benefits may include medical, dental, vision, retirement programs, paid time off, company vehicle or vehicle allowance, fuel card, and additional benefits based on eligibility and company policy.

    Equal Opportunity

Myles Wrecker Service and True North Fleet Services are equal-opportunity employees committed to creating an inclusive workplace. Employment may be contingent upon applicable background checks, motor vehicle record review, drug screening, and verification of required licenses or certifications.
